5 Tips to Lose Weight Quick

Are you fed up with Diets and Lose Weight Quick plans? Most of us have started (and stopped) more than our share of weight loss programs. Here's an interesting, and seemingly contradictory, fact. If you want to lose weight quick, slow down. Let me explain. If you need to lose weight fast and start off using some radical weight loss program, you won't see it through. And even if you do, as soon as you go off of the plan, you'll gain that weight (and more) right back.

So, if you want to lose weight quick, slow down! In the end, you will lose the weight faster and have a much better chance of keeping it off. This article contains 5 tips that have been proven successful by weight loss participants using an assortment of methods to lose weight . Let's take a look:

Weight Loss Tip #1: Set Realistic Goals. Sometimes we set ourselves up for failure by setting unrealistic weight loss goals. Before starting a weight loss program, ask yourself these questions:
"How much weight do you want to lose?" "What is your time-frame to lose the weight - a day, a week, a month, or more?"

Naturally, we all want to lose weight quick, but remember - if you set unrealistic goals, you will only end up with more frustration and disappointment. Better to take a little time and achieve your weight loss goals, than to set unrealistic goals only to fail.

Weight Loss Tip #2: Prepare to Succeed. You must think of your weight loss program as a new lifestyle. An integral part of that new lifestyle is removing obstacles to your success. So, get rid of that junk food, those colas in the refrigerator, and those other high-calorie, empty-nutrition "foods" you have around.

Do you know why you are hungry all the time? It's because those junk foods are not providing the nutrients your body craves. The result is that your body's appetite center keeps urging you to eat in an effort to get the nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

Weight Loss Tip #3: Eat a Healthy Breakfast. Yep, Mom was right. A nutritious breakfast is an important ingredient in a successful weight loss program. This is the most important meal, so you should never miss it. Skipping breakfast programs your brain to think that you are hungry, starved and deprived. You will feel lethargic and, when the pressure is too much, you will go on an eating binge. We've all been there, but this is suicide when you are trying to lose weight quick.

Weight Loss Tip #4: Exercise. If you really want to kick your metabolism into high gear and lose weight fast, then exercise is your friend. And, contrary to what you've been told for years, aerobic exercise is not the best form of exercise for rapid weight loss. Actually, studies are beginning to show that strength training and high-intensity, short duration exercises (as opposed to low-intensity, long duration exercises) are a superior form of exercise to help a person lose weight quick.

Weight Loss Tip #5: Sleep (My personal favorite). Always get plenty of sleep during your weight loss program. Research shows that a normal adult would need an approximately 7-8 hours of sleep a day. This helps to keep your system working in perfect order, which is crucial to the success of your weight loss program.

We all want to lose weight quick, but it's equally important to keep that weight off once it is lost. Losing weight and then gaining it back is unhealthy, both physically and mentally. If you really want to lose weight quick and be sure that you don't gain it back, the best approach is to follow a proven plan. Be sure, however, that it's not one of those trendy "Hollywood" diets. They are destined for failure.
